Departmental Participation. Each Department shall elect a committee or act as a committee of the whole whose function shall be to meet with the Xxxxxxx to consider all eligible candidates for the Department Xxxx position. The committee will provide at least three (3) recommendations to the Xxxxxxx with the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate. The committee may rank its recommendations in the order of preference. The President of the College will appoint the Xxxx from the recommendations received from the Xxxxxxx and the committee. Such appointment shall be made by April 1. In the event that the President should prefer not to approve any of the candidates, the selection process will begin again. If requested, the Xxxxxxx will advise the screening committee as to why recommendations from the screening committee were not accepted. Thereafter, appointments to Department Xxxx positions will be accomplished by May 1. Appointments to Department Xxxx positions that have not been accomplished by the time specified may be filled by the President of the College with a one (1) year appointment.
