DESCRIPTION OF THE SAMPLES TESTED. From mid-April until the end of May 2013, a total of 51 samples were sent to the laboratory of AIJU by the market surveillance authorities participating in JA2011. When the samples were received, the staff of AIJU performed an initial visual inspection in order to detect if the samples had potential defects caused by transportation or by other factors. In such cases, the working group was informed accordingly. The 51 samples can be classified into three main product groups according to the type of wheeled child conveyances. The variety of the samples was due to the origin of the samples, as each country has different habits regarding the use of WCC’s. To provide an in depth view of the characteristics the products were tested to, a sub-classification according to their properties is provided below. PRAMS

From mid-April until the end of May 2013, 43 samples were sent to the laboratory of AIJU by the market surveillance authorities participating in JA2011 in order to be tested according to the requirements of French standard XP S 54-044 and also in line with the testing protocol developed by this working group. When the samples were received, the staff of AIJU performed an initial visual inspection in order to detect if the samples had any potential defects caused by transportation or other factors. In such cases, the CCA working group was informed accordingly. The samples were sent from 10 different European countries: Spain, Bulgaria, Romania, Germany, United Kingdom, France, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden. Therefore, the laboratory performed testing taking into consideration both situations. In some cases, one kind of stand could be used with different models of bath tubs, no matter their design. In these cases, additional tests were performed accordingly. With regards to the country of origin of the samples, out of the 43 samples received, around 60% originated from within the European Economic Area; whereas the rest of the samples came from outside Europe, with China representing around 23% of all the samples tested (refer to Figure 6 below).
