Common use of District Initiated Transfer Clause in Contracts

District Initiated Transfer. Employees may be transferred for non- disciplinary reasons under this Article when it is in the best interest of the District. Transfer is a movement from one (1) location or operating unit to another within South Orange County Community College District and within the employee’s same classification. The District agrees that it shall consider voluntary transfers prior to requiring an involuntary transfer. The District shall not be arbitrary, capricious, or discriminatory in the application of District initiated transfers. Except unusual circumstances as determined by the Chief of Police the District shall give fifteen (15) working days notice to affected employees before initiating a District transfer. By mutual agreement between the District and the employee, notice time can be less than fifteen (15) working days. The employee shall be granted, upon written request, the opportunity for a personal conference with the employee’s current immediate supervisor and/or a representative from the Office of Human Resources.
