DISTRICT PROVIDED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. The District will establish and publish an annual District-level plan for providing professional development designed to meet identified educational program improvement needs. The District will attempt to provide the plan for the upcoming year to staff members prior to the end of each preceding school year. The District shall be under no obligation to continue any particular level of funding for such activities.

DISTRICT PROVIDED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. Years 1 and 2 of the contract there are182 staff work days and 178 student days. The 182 staff work days includes 6 hours of flexible professional development. Up to 3 hours of this flexible PD may be used to complete district required compliance trainings. The remaining time needed to satisfy the six (6) flexible hours of self-selected PD must be selected from district provided offerings. Staff must complete their self-selected DPPD no later than May 31 of the current school year. Any staff who has not fulfilled the self-selected DPPD by April 1 of the current school year shall receive written notice from their building/department supervisor advising them of their obligation to complete the self-selected DPPD. Failure to meet the flexible PD requirements by May 31 may lead to disciplinary action. The District shall provide a calendar of self-selected PD options for semester one by the first Monday of September. A calendar for Semester two will be provided no later than the second Monday of January.
DISTRICT PROVIDED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. A. The length of each professional development session shall be either one (1) full day or one- hour increments. Full professional development days shall begin at 8:00 and end no later than 3:00 p.m.

  • Professional Development Fund A budget item equal to one-half (½) of one (1) percent of employees' salaries shall be set aside annually to be used to:

  • Professional Development Days Upon request, each Employee shall be granted at least three (3) professional development days annually for professional development, at the Basic Rate of Pay. An Employee shall be advised, prior to taking any professional development days of any transportation, registration fees, subsistence and other expenses that will be paid by the Employer. Such hours not used in each fiscal year shall not be carried forward into subsequent years. Applications for such paid professional development opportunities shall be made in writing, to the Employer as early as possible.

  • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that maintenance of currency of subject knowledge, the improvement of performance of faculty duties, and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, including instructional skills, are the primary professional development activities of faculty members.

  • Professional Development Activities Professional development activities are activities initiated by individual faculty members or groups of faculty members and may include attendance at conferences, workshops or seminars which facilitate the following:

  • Continuing Professional Development 30.1.7 If, during the life of the Agreement, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is introduced for plumbers, all time spent in complying with the CPD obligations will be the responsibility of each plumber.

  • Professional Development Reimbursement Management will provide reimbursement for approved professional development expenses for Lieutenants and Sergeants. Funds may be used for the purpose of improving job performance, maintaining and increasing proficiency, preparing Lieutenants and Sergeants for greater responsibility, or increasing promotional opportunities. Management must approve of the specific professional development request in advance. Denial will require written notification to the requesting Lieutenant or Sergeant.
