Dual Language Program Stipends. A. To support the additional responsibilities and expectations of transitional kindergarten and elementary classroom dual language teachers, as well as secondary teachers working as part of an English/Spanish pair or a middle school ELA/SLA/Social Studies trio, a $5,000 stipend will be issued. This stipend will be prorated commensurate with the FTE that the teacher spends providing services in the dual language program. The stipend is intended to support the following additional responsibilities and expectations: 1. additional collaboration and planning 2. additional conferences 3. instructional material translation 4. report card preparation 5. biliterate curriculum development B. Teachers in the above-mentioned categories will also receive an additional $300 per year for the purchase of books and supplies needed for the classroom and/or instruction. This allotment will be in addition to any classroom funds provided in their building’s budget. C. To support the additional responsibilities and expectations of certificated staff who support a dual language program but do not fall in the above-mentioned categories, a $2,500 stipend will be issued. For secondary teachers, this stipend will be prorated per the FTE that is involved in teaching content in Spanish. This stipend will be prorated commensurate with the FTE that the teacher spends providing services in the dual language program.
