Responsibilities and Expectations. All Adjunct Faculty shall provide professional services within their individual areas of competency, including teaching or support duties according to their individual workload (or contractual) assignments as detailed in this Agreement. The following are the general responsibilities for Adjunct Faculty: i. Teaching effectiveness or providing support (e.g., library, counseling) shall constitute the primary duties for all adjunct faculty. These duties shall be of primary importance and constitute the major portion of the faculty’s responsibilities. ii. Develop, prepare, and teach college-approved courses in accordance with approved course outcomes and class schedules. iii. Each Adjunct Faculty Member shall maintain office hours for student consultation at times and places convenient to students. 1. Adjunct Faculty shall be available during the work week to confer with students about their coursework and related subjects. Availability shall include regular hours of presence in office and may include (but is not limited to) the following means of communication: before and after class conferences; email; telephone; and written notes. 2. Faculty shall submit information at the beginning of each quarter to their Division Coordinator about their regular availability to consult with students; Faculty availability shall include their regular hours of presence in their office. 3. Faculty shall respond to students’ questions, concerns and/or requests for consultation in a timely and respectful manner. iv. Student assessment and course outcomes assessment (as required in the faculty professional growth process and/or annual professional report). v. Participate in the selection of course materials. vi. Develop syllabi and course materials lists for each course taught and update quarterly. vii. Faculty shall be responsible for ensuring that learning activities are maintained through the quarter as officially defined and publicized by the college. In recognition of the importance of the assessment and reporting of student achievement, faculty may substitute other course management duties (e.g. grading, student meetings, submitting grades, etc.), for the last 50% of the scheduled class time during the final week of the quarter. viii. Adjunct faculty shall follow class size expectations and processes as outlined in the Article V.C.14 of this Agreement.

Employees retained in the language skills database are expected to respond timely to such requests as workload demands allow. Any pattern of failure to respond or failure to comply with such requests may lead to revocation of the pay incentive. Student participating in Summer Academic Recovery Academy must complete a total of 60 hours of instructional time per course credit within a five-week session. a) Two Hours per day of In-Person Synchronous Instruction Per Course-four days a week for Five weeks: In order to complete this requirement, students participating in Summer Academic Recovery Academy are required to attend two hours of face-to- face synchronous learning per day per course. The two hours of in-person weekly instructional time per course will be assigned either 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM and/or 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Monday – Thursday (June 25 – July 26, 2018). The hub site will send 3 staff members to a training-of-trainers session at NIJC’s offices in Santa Xxxx. The session will consist of a one day rehearsal on course delivery methods and a half-day to one day of conducting the course for the 10 personnel in another location. Responsibilities and Expectations. The PT will have to have an informal interview with a Phoenix Gym Director to ensure their suitability and availability to work within the Phoenix Gym Studio. • PT sessions are to start and finish promptly at the scheduled time. Please ensure that the Studio is vacated at the end of the session in a timely fashion ready for the next personal trainer. • Phoenix Gym agrees to maintain the PT studio. However the Studio must be risk assessed by the PT prior to starting the session. It is the PT’s duty to check all equipment is in sound working order prior to the start of the session and to report any faults in equipment to the Phoenix Gym staff. If the PT notices any equipment becomes damaged, dangerous or unusable/unsafe for continued use then the PT must take it out of action for the safety of clients and notify one of the Phoenix Gym staff. • If the PT has any useful feedback or suggestions for the improvement of the studio or operational systems of running the studio then the PT’s feedback will be very welcome. • If the tissue dispenser runs out of tissue or antibacterial spray then please notify any member of staff so that they can re-stock it. • All Studio equipment remains the property of Phoenix Gym unless the PT brings in any of their own equipment for their class. Any equipment left at Phoenix Gym is done so at the PT’s own risk. Phoenix Gym is responsible for maintaining their own equipment and the PT is responsible for maintaining their own equipment. • The PT will need to be qualified to at least a level 2 or 3 standard in Fitness Instruction or Personal Training. Boxing/martial arts Instructors must keep within their professional expertise to ensure the safety of their clients. • The PT must wear smart/professional and appropriate clothing whilst training clients. • The PT will be responsible for their client whilst they are training them within the Phoenix Gym studio and make sure that their client follows the gym rules and adheres to any fire/ emergency procedures. • The PT will not be responsible for the gyms daily cleaning procedures unless they make unnecessary mess (bringing grass in from outside or spilling drinks on the studio flooring) but will be expected to keep the studio clean and tidy. The PT is also responsible for their client maintaining clean standards.
