DUES AND DEDUCTIONS. (A) The Association, which is the legally recognized exclusive bargaining representative of the certified staff, shall have the right to have deducted from the salary of members of the Association (upon the District’s receipt of a written authorization form) an amount equal to the fees and dues required for membership in the Association. (B) Not later than September 10 of each year, the Association shall provide to the payroll officer an initial written list of enrolled members who will have Association dues and assessments deducted for the coming school year under payroll deduction. A final revised list of new members may be submitted within five (5) working days following December 1st. 1. The listing shall include total dollar amount to be deducted from the salary payment of each listed member. 2. The amount for the listed deductions shall not be subject to change during the contract year. 3. Each authorized deduction shall be equally pro-rated among the twelve (12) monthly salary payments, beginning with the September pay period and continuing the subsequent months ending with the following August pay period. (C) Membership in the Association, as authorized in writing, shall remain in effect year-to-year. (D) Association deductions that have been authorized by new bargaining unit members who begin employment at or after the start of the contract year will begin with the employee’s first paycheck following such authorization, provided that any authorization forms received after the 10th of each month will be effective for the following month’s paycheck. Such authorized deductions shall be made on an equally pro-rated basis from the remaining monthly paychecks. The amount of dues or membership fees for such Association members shall be determined by the Association. (E) The District shall retain the right to make appropriate administrative corrections for erroneous deductions.

Pursuant to annual delivery of a signed authorization, the Board shall deduct such dues from the teacher’s check equally throughout the months of September through July each school year, or from such time the list is provided by the legally recognized exclusive bargaining representative Association Treasurer. The Board agrees to remit to the Association Treasurer, no later than fifteen (15) working days after such deductions are made, a sum equal to the total of these monthly deductions accompanied by an alphabetical list of the certified staff, teachers for whom such deductions have been made. The combined annual membership dues will be effective for the following month’s paycheck. Such authorized deductions shall be made on an equally pro-rated basis prorated and deducted from the remaining semi-monthly paycheckspay checks to complete payment by July. If a teacher resigns from the employment of the Board prior to termination of the effective period of the signed authorization, the Board shall deduct the unpaid portion of such authorization from the teacher’s final paycheck. Although a teacher may revoke his/her dues deducting authorization at anytime, such revocation does not eliminate any contractual agreement the teacher may have with the IEA or NEA. Upon appropriate written authorization from the teacher, the Board shall deduct from the salary of any teacher and make appropriate remittance for, the Board’s 403(b) program, charitable donations or any other plan or program approved by the Board. The amount of dues Association shall indemnify and save harmless the employer from all claims, demands, suits and costs incurred in connection with any such claim, demand or membership fees for such Association members shall be determined suit, resulting from any reasonable action taken or omitted by the Associationemployer for the purpose of complying with the provisions of this section. (E) The District shall retain the right to make appropriate administrative corrections for erroneous deductions.

Any members joining the MBEA after September 11th will pay their dues directly to the MBEA until December 1st, at which time the balance of the member’s dues will begin to be automatically deducted from their monthly paycheck. (C) Membership in the Association, as authorized in writing, shall remain in effect year-to-year. (D) Association deductions that have been authorized by new New bargaining unit members who begin beginning employment at or after the start of the contract year will may authorize deductions to begin with on the employee’s first paycheck following such authorization, provided that any authorization forms received after the 10th of each month will be effective for the following month’s paycheckDecember 1st WEA APA billing. Such authorized deductions shall be made on an equally pro-rated basis from the remaining ten (10) monthly paychecks, starting with the November salary payment. (E) Bargaining unit members who commence employment after the start of the school year and who authorize deductions shall have the deductions made on an equally pro-rated basis from their salary payments. The amount of dues or membership fees for such Association members shall be determined by the Association.
