Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.
Bereavement Leave With Pay For the purpose of this Article, immediate family is defined as father, mother (or alternatively stepfather, stepmother, or xxxxxx parent), brother, sister, spouse, child, (including spouse’s child), stepchild or xxxx of the employee, grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and relative permanently residing in the employee's household or with whom the employee permanently resides. (a) When a member of the employee's immediate family dies, an employee shall be entitled to a bereavement period of four (4) consecutive calendar days including the day of the funeral. During such period the employee shall be paid for those days which are not regularly scheduled days of rest for the employee. When circumstances dictate, the period may be split into three consecutive calendar days and a fourth day deferred to a later date to allow an employee to attend an internment service. In addition, the employee may be granted up to three (3) days' leave with pay for the purpose of travel related to the death. (b) An employee is entitled to one (l) day's bereavement leave with pay for the purpose related to the death of his or her son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law or sister-in-law. (c) If, during a period of vacation leave, an employee is bereaved in circumstances under which he or she would have been eligible for bereavement leave with pay under paragraph (a) or (b) of this clause, the employee shall be granted bereavement leave with pay and his or her leave credits shall be restored to the extent of any concurrent bereavement leave with pay granted. (d) In the event that an employee’s religious beliefs or individual circumstances require observance at times other than immediately before or after the funeral, NAV CANADA may postpone the period of time (or any part of) provided for in this Article to such alternate time(s). (e) It is recognized by the parties that the circumstances which call for leave in respect of bereavement are based on individual circumstances. On request, NAV CANADA may, after considering the particular circumstances involved, grant leave with pay for a period greater than that provided for in clause 29.02 (a) and (b).
Public Holidays falling within Annual Leave (a) If a Public Holiday, as prescribed in this Agreement, falls within an Employee’s annual leave the Public Holiday does not constitute part of the Employee’s annual leave and will be paid as ordinary hours.
Christmas or New Year's Day Off The Employer agrees to make every reasonable effort to ensure that employees required to work shift shall have at least Christmas Day or the following New Year's Day off.
Recall from Vacation Leave When during any period of vacation leave an employee is recalled to duty, he shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses, as normally defined by the Employer, that he incurs:
WORKING DAY BEFORE AUCTION DATE Any intending bidder who intends to bid on behalf of another person, body corporate or firm is required to deposit with the Auctioneer prior to the auction sale an authority letter to state that he/she is acting on behalf of another person, body corporate or firm and he/she is authorised to sign all the necessary documents. All intending bidders shall be required to verify their identities by showing to the Auctioneer their identity cards prior to the commencement of the auction, failing which, they shall not be entitled to bid. In the event that the Bumiputra lot is sold to a non Bumiputra or if the successful bidder is below the age of 18 or is an undischarged bankrupt or is not legally competent to purchase the property, then such sale shall be cancelled and the deposit paid shall be refunded to the successful bidder and thereafter the Assignee shall be at liberty to put up the property for sale. A foreign citizen/foreign company may be allowed to bid for the property and if the bid is successful, the sale is subject to the foreign citizen/company applying and obtaining at his/her/its own cost to the Economic Planning Unit (if applicable) and/or relevant State Authority for the unconditional consent to the sale within the period stated in Clause 11 hereof but subject to Clause 22 hereof.
Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An Employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double time and one-half (2½) for hours worked, plus a day off subject to this Agreement.
