Education and Retraining Assistance. (i) An employee with one or more years of continuous service who is terminated as a result of a plant closing will be eligible to receive Education and Retraining Assistance for courses approved by the Company which contribute to or enhance the employee’s ability to obtain other employment provided that the employee begins the approved course within one year following termination. Approved courses will normally be given at schools which are accredited by recognized regional or state accrediting agencies and may include: • Occupational or vocational skill development; • Fundamental reading or numerical skill improvement; • High school diploma or equivalency achievement; and • College level career oriented courses.
