Elected Office Leave. An employee who is elected to a part-time civic office such as a municipal council or school board shall book work which can be carried out with the least possible interference from the duties of the elected office. The employee shall also normally give at least twenty- four (24) hours notice when it is practical to do so of any requirement to be absent from work by reason of the duties of the elected office.
