Election of SPC Members. School Personnel Committees (including one alternate member) shall be elected by the relevant full-time constituent faculty (tenured and non-tenured), subject to the following provisions: (1) Members of a SPC will serve for a period of one year. (2) Nominations for SPC members must be received by the Xxxx during the spring for the following academic year. (3) Secret ballots must be used. (4) Ballots must be returned to the Xxxx and counted openly at a time and location previously announced to faculty, to give them an opportunity to observe the process. SPC/DPC elections will take place after Board decisions on tenure in May to allow newly tenured faculty to serve. The SPC will elect a Chair (with vote, who will convene meetings) at the first meeting of each academic year.
