Joint Appointments. When sound academic reasons exist for doing so, a Faculty Member may be appointed jointly to two (2) or more Academic Departments or Faculties. Such appointments shall be at the same rank, of the same type and with the same salary rate, in the Academic Departments or Faculties concerned. When sound academic reasons exist for doing so, a Faculty Member may be appointed jointly to an Academic Department and to a non-academic unit within the University. The Faculty Member shall have his/her rank, type of appointment, academic component of salary, credit for previous experience, promotion eligibility and other academic conditions determined on the same basis as for other Faculty Members. If such Faculty Members commence working entirely in one (1) Academic Department, their salary shall be in accordance with this Collective Agreement.
Joint Appointments. The Company shall be at liberty to appoint any other person or persons to act jointly with the Executive in any position to which he may be assigned from time to time.
Joint Appointments. A Joint Appointment is one in which a member is responsible to more than one (1) Department. Contracts for members with Joint Appointments shall specify the Departments concerned. All evaluations, recommendations, and decisions concerning a member’s career shall take into account the Joint Appointment.
Joint Appointments. For faculty holding joint appointments, recommendations from the secondary department or unit promotion committee, as well as the recommendations of the chair of the secondary department or unit must be submitted to the home department no later than November 1 (see Timetable in Article 18.§11for specific date) of the review year. The review letters from the secondary department and chair shall become part of the faculty member’s file; they must be considered by the primary department when formulating its promotion recommendations and in all subsequent reviews. Professional competence, professional recognition and professional service in both departments must be considered explicitly by both departments during the review process; for faculty specialists holding joint appointments, only professional competence and service are required for consideration. The home department must take these recommendations into consideration in making its promotion recommendation (see Article 14.§2.3).
Joint Appointments. For faculty holding joint appointments, recommendations from the secondary department or unit tenure committee, as well as recommendations of the chair of the secondary department, must be submitted to the home department by the date specified in Article 17.§
Joint Appointments. A joint appointment is one appointment that spans two or 10 more units. For NTTF bargaining unit members holding joint appointments, a memorandum 11 will be completed at the time of hire or assignment specifying expectations for promotion 12 review and identifying how the promotion process will be handled among the units. Such 13 memorandum is not valid unless approved in writing by the bargaining unit faculty member and 14 the Xxxxxxx or designee.
Joint Appointments. 11.4.6.1 It is recognized that joint appointments across functional areas do occur. When joint appointments across functional areas occur, the Coordinator in the area where the employee has the greatest appointment level will be the Coordinator responsible for the evaluation of that employee and shall seek input from the Coordinator, colleagues and students in all the functional areas where the employee holds an appointment. If the appointment level is equal, the Coordinators shall agree between themselves who shall have this responsibility.
11.4.6.2 The responsible Coordinator shall seek representation for the Evaluation Committee from all functional areas where the employee holds an appointment by making a request through the appropriate Coordinator of the other functional areas (see 11.5.5).
Joint Appointments. Tenured faculty members who hold joint appointments will be 10 reviewed by the primary unit. Input from appropriate reviewers (e.g., faculty, chair, xxxx) of the 11 secondary unit, including performance reviews, teaching evaluations, service and research 12 evaluations, must be considered by the primary unit as part of the review process.
Joint Appointments. XXXX employees holding joint appointments with a department or unit in the University shall be eligible for any salary increases available to other part-time members of the bargaining unit in such department/unit of the University, with such increases appropriately pro-rated.
Joint Appointments. A joint appointment is one appointment or separate appointments that span two or more units, schools, and/or colleges. At the time of the initial hire or appointment, a memorandum identifying how the promotion and/or tenure processes will be handled will be provided to the bargaining unit member. Upon request to the supervisors in each of the employing units, bargaining unit members whose appointments become joint appointments after the date of initial hire shall be provided with a memorandum identifying how the promotion and/or tenure processes will be handled.
