Personnel Committees. 17.01 Except as provided in Article 23 and as provided in Article 17.03, no person shall be appointed to, promoted to, granted extension of probation, or awarded tenure in a full-time or reduced load position as Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Professional Librarian, or Instructor/Academic Assistant by action of the Board except upon: 17.01.1 recommendation by a Personnel Committee established under and acting under the provisions of this Collective Agreement; 17.01.2 recommended by the President. 17.02 In the event that a Personnel Committee cannot or will not make a recommendation respecting a Member as provided in the Collective Agreement, the powers and duties of the Personnel Committee shall be terminated in that case and the Xxxx shall make the recommendation, or in the case of an Appeal Committee, the Vice- President (Academic) shall make the recommendation. 17.03 In the event that a Search Committee cannot or will not make a positive recommendation for any candidate the Xxxx may recommend a candidate for a term appointment not to exceed two

Personnel Committees. Peer Personnel Committees at the Xxxxxxxx Campus, the Eastern Campus and the Western Campus, and a College Personnel Committee, shall be established by the Association to make recommendations on Unit III personnel to be considered by the Administration on matters involving hiring, promotions, dismissals and continuing appointments. All college personnel who are members of Unit III or Unit IV or members of the Administrative Exempt category shall be evaluated for academic promotion by the appropriate academic peer personnel committee or, where no committee exists, by the College Personnel Committee.
Personnel Committees. 21.5.1 Department personnel committees will be composed of tenured faculty. The committee must include at least three (3) tenured faculty. Voting committee members must be at or above the rank under consideration. In the case where fewer than three (3) department members are eligible to be on the committee, the committee will include appropriate faculty from another department. (a) The personnel committee will be elected by the tenured and tenure- track faculty within the department. (b) The department personnel committee is responsible for evaluating the professional record and providing written recommendations to the xxxx. (c) The department chair will not serve on the department personnel committee. The chair will conduct an independent evaluation and make an independent recommendation to the xxxx. 21.5.2 College personnel committees will be composed of at least three (3) full professors, plus one (1) full professor who shall serve as an alternate member, with no more than one (1) member from each department. Members of the department personnel committees and chairs are eligible to serve on the college personnel committee, but will be replaced by the alternate member for purposes of the committee’s consideration of any issue they reviewed as a member of the department personnel committee or department chair. (a) The members of the college personnel committee will be elected by the tenured faculty within the college. (b) The college personnel committee is responsible for evaluations relating to reappointments beginning in the fourth (4th) year, tenure, promotion and post-tenure review. The committee will provide a written recommendation to the xxxx. 21.5.3 Ad hoc personnel committees will be formed when circumstances warrant. Ad hoc personnel committee members will be nominated by the responsible xxxx or xxxxx, and appointed by the Office of the Xxxxxxx.

  • LABOR/MANAGEMENT COMMITTEES A. Statewide

  • Labour Management Committee (a) Where the parties mutually agree that there are matters of mutual concern and interest that would be beneficial if discussed at a Labour Management Committee Meeting during the term of this Agreement, the following shall apply. (b) An equal number of representatives of each party as mutually agreed shall meet at a time and place mutually satisfactory. A request for a meeting hereunder will be made in writing prior to the date proposed and accompanied by an agenda of matters proposed to be discussed, which shall not include matters that are properly the subject of grievance or negotiations for the amendment or renewal of this agreement. Any representative(s) attending such meetings during their regularly scheduled hours of work shall not lose regular earnings as a result of such attendance. (c) It is agreed that the topic of a rehabilitation program for drug and alcohol abuse is an appropriate topic for the Labour-Management Committee. It is also agreed that the topic of the utilization of full-time and part-time staff is an appropriate topic for the Labour-Management Committee. The committee shall have access to work schedules and job postings upon request. (d) It is understood that joint meetings with other Labour-Management Committees in the Hospital may be scheduled concerning issues of mutual interest if satisfactory to all concerned. (e) Where two or more agreements exist between a Hospital and CUPE the Committee may be a joint one representing employees under both agreements, unless otherwise agreed.

  • Joint Committees 1101 Release Time (a) Basic pay or equivalent time off, with a minimum of one (1) hour guaranteed to nurses who are not on duty, will be granted to nurses appointed by the Union to attend meetings of the Union Management Committee and any other Facility joint committee to which the Union is required to appoint representatives. (b) All reasonable efforts will be made to relieve a nurse who is appointed to attend meetings of the Union Management Committee, Nursing Advisory Committee or any other facility joint committee to which the Union is required to appoint representatives, without loss of salary or benefits. This clause is applicable when the meeting(s) occurs during hours the nurse is otherwise scheduled to work. 1102 Union Management Committee The Employer and the Union agree to establish and maintain a Union Management Committee consisting of not less than two (2) persons appointed by each of the parties. Management representatives shall include the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing; Union representatives shall include the President and/or Vice-President of the Local. Appointments shall be made for a term of one (1) year but without limit on the number of consecutive terms a member may serve. The Committee shall meet at the request of either party subject to five (5) days notice being given but not less than bi-monthly unless otherwise mutually agreed. The purpose of the Committee shall be to discuss/study/make recommendations to the Employer and the Union regarding matters of mutual concern. 1103 Nursing Advisory Committee

  • Committees The Parties agree on establishing Committees in the following matters: (a) Trade in Goods; (b) Trade in Services; (c) Investment; (d) Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures; (e) Technical Barriers to Trade; (f) Trade Facilitation; (g) Rules of Origin; and (h) Cooperation, including Intellectual Property. 2. The Free Trade Commission may create additional Committees, if needed. The Committees on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Technical Barriers to Trade and Rules of Origin shall coordinate their tasks with those of the Committee on Trade in Goods.

  • Sub-Committees 15.1 The Joint Committee shall establish the membership and terms of reference for any sub-committees or sub-groups which it establishes and may dissolve such sub-committees or sub-groups. Sub-committees to which the Joint Committee delegates functions are bound by the provisions of this Agreement regulating the taking of decisions by the Joint Committee. The Joint Committee may create additional sub-committees from time to time as it sees fit.

  • Advisory Committees The Board may appoint Advisory Committees to review design review applications, or provide input on other issues of concern to the Board or the Commission. These Advisory Committees include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: 1. Cameron Park Design Review Committee 2. El Dorado Hills Design Review Committee 3. Xxxxxxx Pines Design Review Committee 4. The County’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (“EDAC”)

  • Labour Management Relations Committee In recognition of the mutual benefits of open communications and on-going consultation between the faculty and the employer, the Labour/Management Relations Committee will meet on a regular basis and have equal representation for the Union and the Employer. The LMRC will serve as an open forum for the free and candid discussion of matters of mutual concern to faculty members and management.

  • Board Committees The Director hereby agrees to sit in the relevant committees of the Board and to perform all of the duties, services and responsibilities necessary thereunder.

  • LABOR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE Section 1. In order to facilitate communication between labor and management, a Labor Management Committee consisting of the Department Head and/or his designated alternate, the Assistant Chief of Police and two (2) Team Managers, and three (3) representatives of the Lincoln Police Union, along with at least one (1) Team Representative, will make up the Labor Management Committee. The Department Head will designate management personnel and the Union shall select Union representatives. Members will serve at the pleasure of the Department Head or Union President, depending upon who the member represents. Members will serve and be replaced on a staggered system (approximately three (3) year limit) depending upon the schedule agreed upon by the Department Head and the Union President. Section 2. Each Team area will be represented by a member of any rank to serve as spokesperson for that area. They will meet at least one week prior to the monthly Labor Management Committee meeting to formulate the common areas of interest and to elect a spokesperson to present the items in writing to the Labor Management Committee. Payment for attending this meeting will be at the discretion of the Department Head. Spokesperson will be chosen on a rotating basis. Team representatives will be picked by a vote of the Team members that they are representing. Section 3. The Labor Management Committee may discuss any area of the Department, with limitation only on those areas already under agreement between the City and the Union. The agenda will be based on the problem areas brought to the attention of the Committee by the Team Representatives and on any area representative members of Labor Management feel need to be discussed. Topics for discussion will be posted on the Union bulletin board and disseminated to Labor Management Committee members at least one (1) week prior to the monthly meeting. Section 4. Membership is subject to change through attrition and elected office, however, a one (1) week notice must be given to the Committee to afford the new member(s) voting privileges. Section 5. Realizing that communication is the key element to the smooth operation of any organization, the Labor Management Committee will xxxxxx an element of cooperation and unity of organizational members, be they labor or management. Section 6. Meetings shall be held at least once per calendar month. Additional meetings may be scheduled by mutual agreement of the Committee and the Department Head. Section 7. A quorum shall consist of two (2) members from labor and two (2) members from management.

  • Safety Committees Joint employee-elected and Employer appointed safety committees shall be formed in accord with WISHA requirements and following University of Washington policy. The Union is entitled to representation on the University-wide or specific organizational or divisional committees where bargaining unit employees are working. Any department or unit committee also dealing with health and safety issues in work areas shall appropriately involve bargaining unit employees. Participation in safety and health committees, including meeting time, health and safety research, work on committee assignments, seminars, and classes will be considered time worked for all employees in accordance with University policy. Release time must be arranged with supervisors in advance. When the committee makes a recommendation that requires action or approval beyond its scope of authority, the Employer will communicate its disposition of the formal written recommendation within thirty (30) days.
