Common use of Eligibility; Hours Clause in Contracts

Eligibility; Hours. Employees who have been employed for thirty (30) or more days of uninterrupted service, and who have suffered the loss by death of a member of their immediate family, as defined in this Article, shall be eligible to receive up to forty (40) hours of leave per bereavement, at the discretion of the employee’s supervisors, and under the supervision of the Chief of Police. Such leave shall not result in compensation for more than the number of hours in any normal work week.
