Common use of Employee Access to Employment File Clause in Contracts

Employee Access to Employment File. (a) The Employer shall keep an employment file of every employee in its employ. Upon reasonable notice to the Employer, the employee’s employment file shall be available to the employee for viewing during regular business hours at a mutually agreeable time. The employee may have a Union representative present when viewing the file. (b) The Employer and the Union agree that the contents of an employee’s employment file shall be treated with the strictest confidence.
