Absence Without Permission. (a) An employee who is absent from her employment without permission for ten (10) consecutive days, shall be deemed to have resigned her position effective the first day of her absence.
(b) The employee may be reinstated if she establishes to the satisfaction of the employer, that her absence arose from a cause beyond her control and it was not possible for the employee to notify the Employer of the reason for her absence.

Absence Without Permission. 01. Unexcused absence or emergency absence when notification is not given within a reasonable time, will be dealt with by superintendents as follows:
Absence Without Permission. An employee who is absent from his or her job without permission for five (5) or more consecutive working days shall be deemed to have abandoned his or her position and to have resigned from the District as of the last day worked.

(b) The Nurse may be reinstated if the Nurse establishes to the satisfaction of the Employer, that the absence arose from a cause beyond the Nurse’s control and it was not possible for the Nurse to notify the Employer of the reason for the absence.
Absence Without Permission. Employees who are expected at work and do not report must notify their Manager, or Management designate prior to the start of their shift where possible but otherwise as soon as possible thereafter.

If an employee is absent without permission three (3) scheduled days during any two-month period, they will be given a written warning. An employee will be liable for dismissal after a second warning. If an employee is absent without permission for three (3) consecutive scheduled working days, they will be considered as having left the service of the University.

This notification should normally occur no later than one hour after the employee's regular starting time. Shift employees should endeavour to provide notification at least four hours before the commencement of the shift.

Such employee will then be considered to have been on an unpaid leave of absence effective the first day of their absence except where the employee chooses to utilize unused vacation entitlement for such period or establishes an entitlement to any other paid leave.
