Common use of Employee Notice Clause in Contracts

Employee Notice. Employees can only be required to give notice if it is a term of an award or enterprise agreement. Under the Pastoral Award 2020 employees must also give the same amount of notice as employers. However, employees do not have to give the additional week of notice based on the age of the employee and length of service. Employers must give written notice but employees may give verbal notice. If the employee fails to give notice and is over 18 years of age, the employer can deduct up to one week’s pay from the employee’s termination payments.
