Employee Request. Subject to the operational requirements of the service, the Deputy Head shall make every reasonable effort to ensure that an employee’s written request for vacation leave is approved. Where, in scheduling vacation leave, the Deputy Head is unable to comply with the employee’s written request, the Deputy Head or delegated official shall: (a) give the reason for disapproval; and (b) make every reasonable effort to grant an employee’s vacation leave in the amount and at such time as the employee may request in an alternative request.
