Temporary Shift Change. (a) An employee who has a need to request a temporary shift change may make such request in writing, including the expected duration, to his or her supervisor. The employee’s request may be granted provided it does not adversely affect the productivity of the department. (b) An employee normally working an eight and one-half (8 ½) hour day who is granted a shift change shall work an eight and one-half (8 ½) hour workday regardless of the change in start time.

Temporary Shift Change so long as the employee(s) requesting such change have the skill and ability to perform the work, the Company agrees that employees may from time to time request the opportunity of exchanging shifts with other employees for their convenience and the Company will not unreasonably deny such request. Such temporary assignments shall not exceed thirty (30) days and will be granted on the basis of seniority.
Temporary Shift Change. An employee who has his/her shift changed to substitute for an absent employee shall receive pay at the rate of one and one-half (1-½) of his/her regular salary for the number of hours worked over eight (8) hours in a twenty-four hour period, if the employee does not receive at least sixteen (16) unassigned hours prior to the substitute shift.

Temporary Shift Change. An employee may make a request to his or her supervisor for a temporary shift change for personal reasons. The request would not normally exceed 2-3 days and would not be requested or granted on a frequent basis. A request in excess of 2-3 days would be discussed between the requesting employee’s supervisor and the Manager of Human Resources. The employee will make the request of the temporary shift change to his or her own supervisor. The supervisor, if he or she felt the request can be accommodated, would approach the other shift supervisors to determine if they can accommodate the employee’s request. If the employee’s supervisor and/or the other shift supervisors cannot accommodate the request, it will not be granted. The Human Resources Department will be apprised of all requests and the final outcome.

A temporary schedule change is defined as a change lasting thirty (30) calendar days or less. With the exception of the job classifications listed in Appendix B, overtime-eligible employees will receive three (3) calendar days’ written notice of any temporary schedule change. The day that notification is given is considered the first day of notice. Adjustments in the hours of work of daily work shifts during a workweek do not constitute a temporary schedule change.

  • Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons.
