EMPLOYEES ON LEAVE WITH REGARD TO UNION BUSINESS. Section 24.01. Step Increases Employees on leave without pay to devote full-time or part-time service to the Union shall be credited with step increases as if they had been in a pay status. Retirement benefits will accrue on the basis of the steps so attained, provided the employees make contributions to the retirement fund in accordance with current procedure. Annual and sick leave will be earned in accordance with existing procedures based on hours worked.
