Promoted Employees. 1. An employee who is promoted shall be considered probationary for the first three calendar months in the new position. During such probationary period, if such employee's performance is determined by the supervising administrator or principal to be unacceptable, the employee shall be returned to a position substantially equivalent to the one held prior to the promotion, as soon as such a position is available. Such employees may request an informal hearing by, or written explanation from, the Chief Officer, Human Resources (or designee). The employee's request for a hearing must be made no later than 10 working days after official notification, in writing, by the supervising administrator or principal that his/her performance is unacceptable. The hearing shall be conducted within 30 working days of such request. The decision of the chief personnel officer shall be final and shall not be subject to a grievable, litigable, or reviewable process.
2. A promoted probationary employee shall be treated as a permanent employee for purposes of determining applicable contractual rights and benefits.
Promoted Employees. 1. An employee who has served one-half (1/2) or more of the time required to be considered for their next step increase, shall upon promotion to a position in a higher wage range in the Bargaining Unit, be placed at Step A of the higher range or such other step as will provide an increase of two
Promoted Employees. A newly promoted employee shall be required to serve a probationary period in the position into which he is promoted. A promoted employee who does not satisfactorily complete his probationary period will be returned to the classification he held before the promotion. If such employee is returned to his prior classification, the Employer has the option to either lay-off or reassign the employee who filled the original assignment of the promoted employee.
Promoted Employees. All employees will serve a six (6) month trial period in any job classification in which the employee has not served a probationary/ trial period. At any time during the trial period, a promoted employee may be returned to the employee's previous position at the sole discretion of the Employer.
Promoted Employees. In the case of a promotion, the rate of the promoted employees will be adjusted to the first step in the new range.
Promoted Employees. 1. An employee who has served one-half (1/2) or more of the time required to be considered for the next step increase shall, upon promotion to a position in a higher salary range in the bargaining unit, be placed at Step A of the higher range, or such other step as will provide an increase equivalent to two (2) steps, whichever is greater.
2. An employee who has served less than one-half (1/2) of the time required to be considered for their next step increase shall, upon promotion to a new position in a higher salary range in the bargaining unit, be placed at Step A or such other step as will provide an increase of one (1) step, whichever is greater.
3. A promoted employee entering the new range at a longevity increment shall be treated as if that increment had been earned in the new range and granted further increments accordingly.
Promoted Employees. An employee who is promoted to a position with a higher salary range shall be placed on step to the nearest higher step in the new salary range effective as of the date of assumption of duties of the new position. If this is less than a full step in the new range, an additional step shall be granted immediately and not in excess of the maximum of the range. Such promoted employee shall receive the next step, unless already at the maximum of the range, effective as of the first day of the first full biweekly pay period following completion of 6.5 longevity credits in such position.
Promoted Employees. At the time of promotion, employees will move to the step in the range of the new class which results in an increase of at least 5%. Upon successful completion of a promotional probationary period, the employee's salary shall then be increased to the next step of the new range on the adjusted salary review date and annually thereafter up to the top of the range. In no event shall a promoted employee's salary be less than the starting pay of the salary range for the new class, nor in excess of the highest step of the regular salary range for the new class.
Promoted Employees. During the probationary period of one (1) year, which commences upon appointment to the higher rank, employees promoted may be reduced to their previous rank held before promotion.
Promoted Employees an employee who has been promoted shall serve a probationary period of three (3) months of continuous employment (summer recess excluded for employees not on duty during the recess) before attaining permanency in the new classification.
1. Failure to complete Probation by Promoted Employee: An employee who has received a promotion and who voluntarily requests within the three (3) month probationary period to retreat to his/her previous classification, or who fails to complete the required probationary period, shall be returned to the classification in which she/he had attained permanency and was serving at the time of the promotion. Assignment to a position within the classification shall be made by the District. The period of time served in the position to which the employee was promoted will be counted, for seniority purposes, as time served in the classification to which the employee is returned. In the event the employee's former classification from which she/he was promoted does not exist, she/he shall be eligible to return to any other classification in which she/he has achieved permanency. All time served in that classification, plus the higher classification, shall be counted for seniority purposes in the lower classification. A position is deemed to exist in the classification where there are probationary employees, with less seniority, filling a position or where the District has not filled the position previously vacated by the promoted employee.
2. Probationary Release and Placement in Different Classification: By mutual agreement between the employee, the Association, and the District, a person released from a probationary status in a promoted position may be placed in a vacant position in a classification in which the employee has not previously served, providing she/he is qualified. In such cases, the employee shall be treated as if she/he had been returned to his/her original classification without experiencing a loss of wages/benefits, i.e., if the employee, due to lack of an available position, moves to a lesser classification, the employee's rate of pay will be frozen at his/her original position rate until the salary schedule for his/her new position is equal to or greater than the rate of pay she/he is receiving.
