Employer-Supplied Equipment. All necessary equipment and tools required by the University will be furnished by, retained at, and maintained by the University. The individual employee will be responsible for any loss or damage to any item furnished by the University under this Article caused by the employee’s negligence.

The University will provide a dry-cleaning laundry service, at no cost to employees, for the purposes of cleaning uniforms. Officers who request a jumpsuit will be responsible for cleaning the jumpsuit. Personal property items of employees, for which the Chief of Police has provided advance written authorization for use on the job, that are damaged while being used within the scope of their duties will be reimbursed on the estimated current value of the damaged article, up to a maximum of $100 per occurrence, excluding prescription eyewear or in instances of employee negligence. For the purposes of this Article, damage does not include normal wear-and-tear. Employees shall be held accountable for all uniforms, weapons and leather/nylon gear which are issued to the employees by the employer.
