Entry Step. The entry step within the established range for each class shall be Step “5” unless specifically designated as Step “6”, “7”, “8”, or “9” . (4) Effective June 20, 2021, the salary range for Sheriff Lieutenant and Sheriff Captain classes will have a new top step added of approximately 5% and will have a new salary range of steps 6 through 9 for Sheriff Lieutenant and steps 4 through 9 for Sheriff Captain. Employees who have been at the old step 9 for a year shall advance to the new step 9 upon adoption. All other employees shall move to the closest step to their current salary and advance to the next step on their anniversary date.
