Common use of Excess of standard shift Clause in Contracts

Excess of standard shift. 20 For nurses scheduled for twelve (12) hour shifts, time worked in excess of the standard 21 shift will be paid a premium of $8.00 per hour for all such additional time effective the first 22 pay period of the contract. This amount shall increase to $9.00 per hour effective the first 23 pay period in July 2011. Nurses working in excess of their scheduled twelve (12) hour 24 shift will be paid time and one half (1.5x) for all additional time worked, excluding the first 25 one (1) hour of time immediately following the twelve (12) hour shift.
