Common use of Expiration of Leave Clause in Contracts

Expiration of Leave. Except in the case of illness leave or industrial injury leave, or as otherwise provided in this Article, twenty (20) days before the expiration of a leave for ninety (90) days or more, the employee must, upon reasonable notice from the District, notify the Employment Transaction Services Branch of his or her intention to return or request an extension of leave, if eligible. Failure to give such notice shall be considered abandonment of position and resignation from service.
