EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. Extra-Curricular activities are defined as assignments requiring specialized qualifications or experience which are for pay and entered into mutually by the teacher and the Board of Trustees. Pay for Extra-Curricular Activities shall include but not be limited to services such as coaching in athletics, debate, speech, directing band/chorus groups, and other services outside the 7.5 hour school day for pay that may be determined by negotiations. Once received by the Building Principal, the request along with a building recommendation will be sent to the District Human Resource department. This request should include: hours worked outside the regular work day, number of competitions, number of coaches/advisors to supervise, and duration of the season. A committee of activity directors, administration, and a representative(s) from the requesting group will meet to review the request based on district resources. The committee will make a recommendation to the negotiation teams. The recommendation will be finalized in correspondence with the requesting party. When a position that is listed in the stipend section of the Master Articles is officially cut, the position cannot be replaced with a volunteer advisor nor can the extra-curricular activity be run as a student interest club. EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. Pay for ExtraIf the Board must recruit a person in the above category from outside the bargaining unit, it may offer to that person a "one time only" bonus that shall not exceed 50% of the contracted salary of the previous coach. b. For all other activities the Board shall give preference to members of the bargaining unit, unless, in the opinion of the Board, a non-Curricular Activities bargaining unit member is more qualified than a member of the bargaining unit. c. Excepting as in Subsection A above, no person who is not a bargaining unit member shall include but not be limited to services such as coaching receive compensation in athleticsexcess of that provided herein. 2. In the event that the Board should create a new position during the term of this agreement, debateit shall notify the Association thereof, speech, directing band/chorus groupsin writing, and other services outside shall state the 7.5 hour school day job specifications therefore. 3. EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. 1. All persons who are not head coaches or head advisors shall be assigned at the discretion of the head coach or head advisor. 7. Assistant coaches who normally work with varsity teams shall be paid for required units beyond the normal season. For wrestling this is after the sectional tournament and for track this is after the league meet. For all other sports, this is after the close of the scheduled season. Unit pay shall be at the same rate as the regular season, with extra compensation based on prorated salary comparing the number of weeks of normal work with the number of weeks the season has been extended. 8. For each day that school is not in session and the duties of band director, orchestra director, or senior chorus director require that person to be in attendance at a tryout or a festival at a county, district, regional, state or national event, and administrative approval has been given to attend that specific event, the director shall be reimbursed at the rate of one hundred fifteen dollars ($115.00) during 2006-2007, 2007-2008, and 2008-2009 school years. In addition, the respective directors shall each receive an annual payment of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) for the 2006-2007, 2007-2008, and 2008-2009, school years for the handling of registrations and making the necessary arrangements for student attendance of these festivals. 9. Middle School Team Leaders shall be paid an annual stipend of $4500 for service in this capacity 10. Elementary curriculum revision will be separate supported by elementary curricular chair(s) who will serve on an annual basis when a curricular area is under review. EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. Extra-Curricular activities are defined as assignments requiring specialized qualifications or experience which are for pay and entered into mutually by the teacher and the Board of Trustees. Pay for Extra-Curricular Activities shall include but not be limited to services such as coaching in athletics, debate, speech, directing band/chorus groups, and other services outside the 7.5 hour school day for pay that may be determined by negotiations. A committee of activity directors, administration, and a representative(s) from the requesting group will meet to review the request based on district resources. When a position that is listed in the stipend section of the Master Articles is officially cut, the position cannot be replaced with a volunteer advisor nor can the extra-curricular activity be run as a student interest club.
