Use of Paid Leave With the approval of the Appointing Authority, employees will be allowed to utilize accrued sick leave, personal holiday or vacation leave when on authorized leave without pay due to illness or injury.
Other Paid Leave 1Leave periods outside the Work/Leave Rotation Cycle as per Annex 1, article 3.2 shall not be paid unless required by this Agreement or for other mandatory reasons (“Other Paid Leave Days”). 2When an employee falls sick or suffers an accident during the Leave Period and such sickness or accident prevents him/her from returing to the Work Site in accordance with the Work/Leave Rotation Cycle, he or she has to notify the Company and the Site Manager immediately (article 9.4 para. 7 – 10 shall also apply).
Other Paid Leaves One-half (1/2) the entitlement provided for in the Agreement.
Paid Leave (a) An employee who is a volunteer member of the Defence Force Reserves or the Cadet Force is entitled to paid leave of absence for Defence service, subject to the conditions set out hereunder.
Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.
Pre-Paid Leave The Employer agrees to introduce a pre-paid leave program, funded solely by the employee, subject to the following terms and conditions:
Reinstatement from Leave Upon completion of a leave of absence, the employee is to be returned to the position formerly occupied, or to a similar position if the employee's former position no longer exists. Any replacement in the position while an employee is on leave is to be on a temporary basis.
Reinstatement after Leave An employee on an approved leave of absence is required to contact the Appointing Authority if an extension is being requested. Failure to contact the Appointing Authority about an extension prior to the end of the approved leave shall be deemed to be a voluntary resignation, and the employee shall be severed from State service. The Local Union and the Appointing Authority may agree to waive the five (5) month reassignment restriction in order to temporarily fill the position of an employee on unpaid Military Leave until s/he returns from active duty. Any employee returning from an approved leave of absence as covered by this Article shall be entitled to return to employment in his/her former position or another position in his/her former class/class option in his/her seniority unit, or a position of comparable duties and pay within his/her seniority unit. Employees returning from extended leaves of absence (one (1) month or more) shall notify their Appointing Authority at least two (2) weeks prior to their return from leave. Employees may return to work prior to the agreed upon termination date with the approval of the Appointing Authority. Employees returning from an unpaid leave of absence shall be returned at the same rate of pay the employee had been receiving at the time the leave of absence commenced plus any automatic adjustments that would have been made had the employee been continuously employed during the period of absence. Prepaid Leave Permanent Employees will be entitled to take a leave of absence financed through a salary deferral arrangement in accordance with the provisions of the Prepaid Leave Plan set out in Article 44 of this Agreement.
