Failure to Commence Vacation. A Flight Attendant may be, inadvertently, unable to complete a work assignment prior to the commencement of a scheduled vacation block. (For example, a Flight Attendant's flight back to domicile on the final day of a pairing may cancel, necessitating a return to domicile extension on the first day of a scheduled vacation block.) In such cases, the parties agree that the Flight Attendant at her/his sole option, may exercise one of the following alternatives [SL-FF]:

  • Prime Time Vacation Period Subject to the provisions of this article, it is the intent of the parties that no employee will be restricted in the time of year they choose to take their vacation. The Employer will make every effort to allow employees to take their vacation during the period of April 15th to October 15th inclusive, which will be defined as the prime time vacation period.

  • Recall from Vacation The Employer will make every reasonable effort not to recall an Employee to duty after she has proceeded on vacation leave or to cancel vacation once it has been approved.
