- Failure to Return from Leave & Inappropriate Use of Leave. Failure of an employee to return to work at the expiration of an approved leave of absence shall be considered an absence without leave and shall be grounds for discipline, up to and including termination, in accordance with the regular policy on absences without leave. If the Director or his designee determines that an employee is using a leave of absence for a purpose other than the purpose for which it was granted, he may immediately revoke the leave of absence, order the employee back to work, and may impose appropriate discipline on the employee, up to and including termination.
