Falsework. Working drawings for Falsework supporting a Bridge Superstructure shall be signed and sealed by a PE.
Falsework. The contractor shall be required to take special precaution and care to prevent any material from falling on the Railroad's right of way. The procedure for preventing material from falling, including need of and plans for temporary falsework, shall first be approved by the Railroad Engineer, but such approval shall not relieve the contractor from liability. Before submission of plans to the Railroad Engineer for approval, the Engineer will first review such plans.

Falsework. A. Contractor shall be fully responsible for the proper strength, safety of the falsework, supports and bearing surfaces which are used in connection with the work. Falsework shall be designed to support imposed loads without deformation, deflection or settlement. B. Wedges in pairs or jacks shall be used where required to maintain and/or adjust forms and formwork for beams, slabs and other parts of the structure at exact elevations. To ensure uniform bearing, single wedges are not permitted. Comply with requirements of ACI 347. C. Vertical and lateral loads shall be carried to ground by falsework framing, or by the completed structure after it has attained the requisite strength. Falsework supports, when placed on ground, shall be protected against undermining or settlement.
Falsework. Based upon field observations, no problems with falsework are anticipated during the construction season. Due to the types of bridge alternatives recommended, the amount of falsework required for the construction will be a minimum. The existing truss demolition and new bridge construction will likely require gravel pads, falsework, and work trestles be constructed to dismantle and replace the existing bridge. The primary construction staging area to remove and replace the existing bridge will be along the south bank gravel bar. There will be access to this construction staging area from the downstream detour road and also from Xxxxxx Ridge Road along an upstream existing private access road.

Falsework. The false work shall be properly designed and substantially constructed and maintained for the loads which will come upon it. The Contractor shall prepare and submit to the Engineer working drawings for falsework and working drawings for changes in any existing structure for maintaining traffic, in accordance with Clause 45 of Part G, Div. II, Vol. I.

Falsework necessary for the support of work under the xxxxxxxxx’x classification shall be done within such xxxxxxxxx’x classification, with the exception that where piledriving or power equipment is used for heavy timber falsework, then such work shall come under the Pile Driver’s classification. This would include all rigging, signaling, and tagging incidental to the placing of heavy timber. 3. Falsework necessary for the support of the decking of concrete or steel “bridge over water” shall come under the xxxxxxxxx’x classification. Falsework for such decking is under the xxxxxxxxx’x classification, except where piledriving or power equipment is used.
