Federal and Provincial Offices. There are no restrictions other than the oath of office on employees engaging in political activities on their own time as campaign workers. If an employee is nominated as a candidate for election, the employee shall be granted leave without pay in accordance with Clause 20.4 (a) to engage in the election campaign. If elected, the employee shall be granted leave of absence in accordance with Clause 20.4(b). If not elected, the employee shall be allowed to return to their former position.
