Filling of Competitive Vacancies. Current procedures for filling of vacancies in the competitive service shall be continued during the term of this Agreement. The following principles, however, shall be followed in the filling of competitive vacancies: (a) Notice of all vacancies in competitive jobs shall be posted in the applicable department, agency, organizational unit or unit division for at least ten (10) workdays. (b) All employees certified to an appointing authority shall be offered the opportunity of an interview. (c) Each certified employee shall be notified by the appointing authority of his/her selection or non-selection. (d) Length of service representing satisfactory service to the State is important for any position and will be given appropriate consideration by the appointing authority along with the qualifications for the position.
