Common use of Five Day Rehearsal Week Clause in Contracts

Five Day Rehearsal Week. ‌ Notwithstanding any of the above, the Theatre shall operate on a five (5) day rehearsal week basis after a secret ballot on or before the first day of rehearsal, by Artists in the company and the Director, with no less than a two-thirds (2/3) majority in favour of this option. In this case the rehearsal day shall be extended to eight (8) hours out of nine-and-a-half (9-1/2) hours per day with a meal break of at least one-and-a-half (1-1/2) hours after a maximum of four-and-a-half (4- 1/2) hours of rehearsal. The meal break may be reduced to one (1) hour with the consent of all the Artists in the production. The Theatre reserves the right with a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours notice to designate the additional Free Day.
