Common use of For Enhancing Skills Clause in Contracts

For Enhancing Skills. Professional improvement leave may be granted to an employee for the purpose of enhancing skills and knowledge applicable to his/her professional position. This leave may also apply to overseas teaching opportunities. After two (2) years of service, an employee may be granted a one (1)-year leave of absence without pay for professional improvement, if requested before April 1st preceding the desired year's absence. Notice of intent to return shall be submitted in writing by March 1st of the year of absence to obtain employment for the ensuing year. Upon return, the employee will be given conditions for employment as nearly equal to his/her former position as possible when consistent with administration of the school program in the best interest of the pupils.
