Common use of Formal Leave Clause in Contracts

Formal Leave. Formal illness leave shall be granted in increments of six (6) months or less. Formal leave, paid or unpaid, shall not extend for more than one (1) year. If, at any time, in the opinion of the District's physician consultant, a Unit member would be unable to return to service, a leave sufficient only to allow the Unit member to apply for disability retirement will be granted.
