Full Time Union Leave. One (1) Employee who is elected for a Full-time position with the Union shall be granted leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority. Employees who are selected for any staff position with the Union shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for a period of up to two (2) years. Extension of such leave may be granted, if submitted in writing and approved by the Employer. Approval of an extension will be dependent on operational requirements and will not be unreasonably withheld. The Employee will be permitted to work for gain for such leave. If it is permissible under the group health and life plans and any other plans, the Employee elected or appointed to a full-time Union position shall have the right to pay the full cost, including the Employer’s share, during the period of such leave of absence.
