Function 3. Information The provider will lead the provision of information about the ‘Active Ageing’ network and provide all people approaching the service or network with motivational support, advice and information to support their understanding of ‘Active Ageing’ and the local opportunities that are available Motivational support, advice and information should include: Use of an appropriate tool such as ‘Lets Get Moving’ to provide motivational support Understanding risk of inactivity and protective factors of being regularly active and exercising with others including reducing loneliness and social isolation Availability of local exercise opportunities and resources supporting health & wellbeing within the ‘Active Ageing’ network and signposting to other information resources and advice such as Age UK, Interagency referrals and/or signposting to alternative sources of support as appropriate such as help with benefits, housing, transport services etc Facilitating the transfer of appropriate information between referrers and providers within in the network (Adhering to Caldecott standards) Information will be available in paper and electronic formats from accredited sources where appropriate. Information will be available through a central point and from other parts of the service. It will be accessible to all sectors of the population. 3.1.4
