Further Education Developments. Activity Levels Across the region, there were 4,608 full-time and 21,074 part-time student enrolments in session 2013-14 a total of 25,682 enrolments. The region exceeded the funded target set by the Scottish Funding Council by 1.45%, the sixth year in a row that the regional target has been exceeded (with the early indications being that we will also meet our 2014-15 target) The level of growth achieved compared to 2012-13 was 4.9%. The 2014/17 Outcome Agreement suggested modest growth in activity over the three year period. However the planning undertaken during session 2014-15 suggests that the actual regional need exceeds these levels and we will now look to European Structural Investment Funds (ESIF) to make much of this possible, commencing in session 2015-16. Our initial target is to increase further education activity by 7% by the end of session 2017-18. A great deal of this remains motivated by the original priorities agreed by the FE Regional Board in 2013: However, this rationale is not just a case of more further education for the sake of it but is very much about the economic and social impact that this can have across the region and in particular in those areas that are displaying signs of fragility.

  • Continuing Education The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.

  • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • Higher education expenses Payments taken for certain qualified higher education expenses for you, your spouse, or the children or grandchildren of you or your spouse, will not be subject to the 10 percent early distribution penalty tax.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • Distance Education 7.13.1 Expanding student access, not increasing productivity or enrollment, shall be the primary determining factor when a decision is made to schedule a distance education course. There will be no reduction in force of faculty (as defined in Article XXIII of this Agreement) as a result of the District’s participation in distance education. 7.13.2 Courses considered to be offered as distance education shall be defined in accordance with the Board of Governors’ Title 5 Regulations and Guidelines. Generally, this definition refers to courses where the instructor and student are separated by distance and interact through the assistance of communication technology (reference section 55370 of Title 5 California Code of Regulations). The determination of which courses in the curriculum may be offered in a distance education format, in addition to instructor/student contact requirements, shall be in accordance with the Title 5 California Code of Regulations.

  • Staff Development ‌ The County and the Association agree that the County retains full authority to determine training needs, resources that can be made available, and the method of payment for training authorized by the County. Nothing in this subsection shall preclude the right of an employee to request specific training.
