General Recognition. Section 1:01 In General The St. Tammany Parish School Board (hereinafter known as the "Board") recognizes the St. Tammany Federation of Teachers and School Employees, American Federation of Teachers, Louisiana Federation of Teachers (hereinafter known as the "Federation") as the sole, exclusive bargaining agent with regard to the wages, hours and working conditions for all full-time or part-time, non-administrative, nonsupervisory employees (hereinafter referred to as "Employees" or "Bargaining Unit Members"). The parties understand and agree that continued employment is not guaranteed for part-time employees, TATs and temporary state certificated employees. No employee, job classification or job position, whether existing or created during the term of this Agreement, shall be considered as included within the Bargaining Unit other than those expressly defined herein as included. For purposes of this Agreement, a part-time employee is any employee whose work schedule is less than that of a full-time employee for that job classification as established by the Board. Section 1:02 Part-time Employees All provisions of this Agreement shall apply to part-time employees with the exception of Sections 9:05 – Department Head/Grade Level Chairpersons Selection Procedure, 9:17 – Lunch Period, and 9:18 – Planning Time of this Provision. Provisions of this Agreement relating to Section 2:09 – Sick and/or Emergency Leave (Provisions Common to All Employees) shall apply to those part-time employees who work certain hours each day of the week, and it shall then be prorated according to actual hours worked. Similarly, salary and supplements under Article XXI – Salaries, Supplements, and Reimbursements (Provisions Common to All Employees) will be prorated for part-time employees.
