General Value Engineering Requirements. 1.2.1.8.4.1. In performing Value Engineering, the Contractor shall, without limitation:
1.2.1.8.4.1.1. Identify all documents necessary for Contractor to fully understand the background and decisions that have influenced the design up to Design Development.
1.2.1.8.4.1.2. Coordinate with the District and Architect to obtain any further documentation necessary to develop this understanding.
1.2.1.8.4.1.3. Review relevant meeting minutes, master plans, District design guidelines, Design Documents and all other necessary documents related to the Project.
1.2.1.8.4.1.4. Analyze and understand key functional issues governing the Project, Project design, and Project systems so that Contractor understands how to best approach Value Engineering.
1.2.1.8.4.1.5. Develop an understanding of the District’s key criteria, objectives, and budgetary constraints with respect to the development of the Project.
1.2.1.8.4.1.6. The Contractor shall coordinate with the District and the Design Team as necessary in the performance of Value Engineering to ensure that the Contractor’s recommendations are consistent with the District’s criteria, objectives, and budgetary constraints
1.2.1.8.4.1.7. The Contractor shall consider all ways to provide function within the Project at a lesser initial or life‐cycle‐cost representing improved value to the District without sacrificing quality.
1.2.1.8.4.1.8. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Design Team to ensure that any recommendation is compliant with any authority having jurisdiction over the Project, including, without limitation, DSA.
