Common use of Grade Clause in Contracts

Grade. A division of a salary scale in respect of which a particular salary or range of salaries is payable. Grades apply to academic salary scales. Kaimahi or Employee A person employed in terms of the coverage clause. Nine/Eleven hour break Aperiod off duty of nine or eleven consecutive hours depending on the schedule. Non-teaching Academic Staff Member/Academic Specialist Person A non-teaching ASM is defined as having less than 50 timetabled teaching hours per year but whose position draws substantively on the criteria listed in the divisional schedules often titled ‘Characteristic of XXX’, ‘Teaching Characteristics’, or similar. Online Delivery Delivery where all or almost all of the course content is delivered wholly online. Ordinary work Work during the hours which are normally paid at ordinary time rate for the day. Overtime The authorised time worked outside the provisions of this employment agreement. Part-time kaimahi A permanent or fixed-term kaimahi who is employed to undertake a specified fraction of the work of a full-time kaimahi. Permanent Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx engaged for an indefinite period of employment either in a full-time or part-time capacity. Research Is as defined by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority for the purposes of the approval and accreditation of programmes leading to qualifications.
