Health Care Assistants / Hospital Aides. In recognition of the importance of ongoing development for Health Care Assistants/Hospital Aides, an employee who achieves merit criteria will receive an allowance as long as s/he maintains those criteria. This allowance shall be added to the base rate of pay and be payable on all hours worked, and shall attract penal rates and overtime. The rates of allowances are as follows: Merit 1 $1,000 p.a.
