Common use of Hot Work Clause in Contracts

Hot Work. A.18.2.1 An employee who works in a place where the temperature has been raised by artificial means to between 46° and 54° Celsius - 53 cents per hour or part thereof; exceeding 54° Celsius - 65 cents per hour extra or part thereof. This allowance will be adjusted annually on 1 March (2010-2011) based on the December to December Consumer Price Index of the previous year from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (all groups, Melbourne). A.18.2.2 Where such work continues for more than two hours, the employee will be entitled to twenty minutes rest after every two hours work without loss of pay, not including the special rate provided by this subclause.
