Hour Shift. a. For Employees who are scheduled to work a 12-hour shift plan, overtime work is defined as all authorized work in excess of eighty-four (84) hours in a 14-day work period. b. Overtime will not be considered unless it has been specifically ordered or authorized by the Department Head. In emergency situations, when prior authorization for overtime is not possible, the subsequent approval of the Department Head or designee is sufficient.
