Common use of Informal Leaves Clause in Contracts

Informal Leaves. Subject to the needs of the service, incidental leaves of absence may be granted to qualified Union representatives, as designated in writing to the Company by the International Representative of the Union, for the performance of lawful CenturyLink Union business. Such leaves shall be without pay and shall not exceed thirty (30) consecutive days at any one time nor more than sixty (60) days (ninety (90) days in the case of the president, executive vice president, secretary/treasurer, and secretary or treasurer of the local) in any one calendar year. Each qualified employee desiring such a leave shall notify his/her immediate supervisor in writing at least three (3) days prior to the time the leave is to begin and specify the length of time he/she desires to be absent. The status of employees absent under this article shall be the same as the status for other employees granted leaves of absence for good and compelling reasons and the service credit shall be limited to thirty (30) days for any one leave. Except by mutual agreement between the designated Human Resources Department representative of the Company and the International Representatives for the Union, the number of employees at one time on informal leaves of thirty (30) days shall be limited to three
