Informal Sessions. Informal practice refers to the “application of mindfulness skills in everyday life” (Xxxxxx et al., 2005, p.14). The purpose of informal practice allows mindfulness to be generalized and integrated into everyday living, and these skills are learnt through the formal practice. Players have learnt the skills from the formal practice and used it within their performance, “When stuff isn’t going right and your head is on fire, and you’re losing your head. That is when I would go right, deep breath and relax”. Within the research (Xxxxxxx & Xxxx, 2008), people are encouraged to engage in informal practice by trying to embed it into everyday activities, having full awareness of the associated movements, sensations, cognitions, and feelings that may be present. The players stated that some strategies and skills that were learnt in the mindfulness sessions helped bring their minds back but also use the skills outside of football. Two statements support the above, “the counting really helped me as that helps me forget what I am distracted about and come back to normal. So, when we did the counting, that really helped me focus and my mind didn’t get distracted at all”, “taking deep breaths, going in for four and out for six, just slow it down. I do it in tests now”. Xxxxx- Xxxx (1990) has often described informal practice as a method for generalizing mindful skills that has been learnt from formal practices into daily life.

  • Informal Negotiations To expedite resolution and control the cost of any dispute, controversy, or claim related to these Terms of Use (each a "Dispute" and collectively, the “Disputes”) brought by either you or us (individually, a “Party” and collectively, the “Parties”), the Parties agree to first attempt to negotiate any Dispute (except those Disputes expressly provided below) informally for at least thirty (30) days before initiating arbitration. Such informal negotiations commence upon written notice from one Party to the other Party.

  • Informal Review Step 1. As soon as practicable, the employee may discuss the grievance with his/her immediate supervisor and/or University representative(s). All parties may informally attempt a resolution of the matter before a formal grievance is filed. Informal resolutions, although final, shall not be precedent setting. If the grievance is not resolved through informal discussion with the immediate supervisor and/or University representative(s), the employee may file a formal grievance as set forth below.

  • Informal Stage An employee, with the concurrence of the Bargaining Unit, may initiate a complaint with the immediate supervisor within twenty-five (25) days from the day the cause of the grievance became known, or reasonably ought to have been known. The immediate supervisor shall answer the complaint in writing within five (5) days after the receipt of the complaint.

  • Informal Conference Prior to the filing of a grievance, in an effort to resolve the issue(s), the grievant shall make reasonable attempts to initiate / discuss or an attempt to initiate / discuss the issue(s) informally with the grievant’s Principal or Supervisor.

  • Informal Discussions The employee's concerns will be presented orally by the employee to the appropriate supervisor. Every effort shall be made by all concerned in an informal manner to develop an understanding of the facts and the issues in order to create a climate which will lead to resolution of the problem. If the employee is not satisfied with the informal discussion(s) relative to the matter in question, he/she may proceed to the formal grievance procedure.

  • Informal Hearing By mutual agreement, an employee against whom disciplinary action is being recommended may meet with the Superintendent or his/her designee prior to written notification of official charges. The employee shall be informed orally of the reasons for disciplinary action and the action to be taken and be given an opportunity to respond. The employee may be represented at the hearing by a representative of his/her choice.

  • Informal Grievance The aggrieved employee or group of employees or a representative of the Union shall orally present the grievance to the employee's Supervisor or his/her designated representative within five (5) standard working days following the occurrence of events on which the grievance is based. The Supervisor shall give his/her answer within five (5) standard working days of the date of presentation of the grievance. Grievance settlements at the informal level shall set no precedents in any future MOU interpretation.

  • Informal Observations A. An informal observation is an observation that is not required to be pre-scheduled.

  • Informal Process The Informal Process provides an Employee with the opportunity to resolve his or her concern by using the open door process, with the assistance of a FC member, within 30 calendar days of the date the Employee became aware of the issue. While an Employee may speak with anyone in the open door process regarding a concern or problem, the Employee is encouraged to take this concern up with his immediate supervisor or may request the assistance of the Employee Advocate or a FC member to facilitate resolution of the issue.

  • Informal Grievance Procedure It shall be the mutual responsibility of employees and management to endeavor to resolve grievances informally at the lowest practicable level of management. To this end, the grievant shall first present the grievance to the grievant's immediate supervisor in an informal meeting within ten (10) days after the occurrence of the circumstances giving rise to the grievance or when the grievant first actually knew, or could have reasonably known of them. The grievant may request the meeting be held at any reasonable time, and the supervisor shall meet with the grievant as soon as reasonably practicable after receipt of the request. In the meeting, the grievant and the supervisor shall review the grievance. The employee shall fully and fairly explain: the alleged action or inaction by the employee's department which caused grievance; the written departmental policy allegedly violated by the department; and the remedy the grievant believes will resolve the grievance. The parties shall cooperate in seeking a resolution of the grievance. If questions beyond the scope of the supervisor's authority or knowledge are involved, the supervisor may consult the supervisor's superiors or other County officers. The supervisor shall present an informal, oral decision with supporting reasons to the grievant within ten (10) days after the meeting.
