Informal Grievance Procedure. Employees are encouraged to act promptly to attempt to resolve disputes with their manager/supervisor through an informal procedure. A meeting between the manager/supervisor and the employee should take place whenever requested by either party to assist, to clarify or resolve the grievance. The employee may be accompanied by his/her Union representative at the informal meeting. Any resolution reached at the informal step must be in accordance with the provisions of this agreement, or other rule or ordinance and shall not set precedent.

Informal Grievance Procedure. It shall be the mutual responsibility of employees and management to endeavor to resolve grievances informally at the lowest practicable level of management. To this end, the grievant shall first present the grievance to the grievant's immediate supervisor in an informal meeting within ten (10) days after the occurrence of the circumstances giving rise to the grievance or when the grievant first actually knew, or could have reasonably known of them. The grievant may request the meeting be held at any reasonable time, and the supervisor shall meet with the grievant as soon as reasonably practicable after receipt of the request. In the meeting, the grievant and the supervisor shall review the grievance. The employee shall fully and fairly explain: the alleged action or inaction by the employee's department which caused grievance; the written departmental policy allegedly violated by the department; and the remedy the grievant believes will resolve the grievance. The parties shall cooperate in seeking a resolution of the grievance. If questions beyond the scope of the supervisor's authority or knowledge are involved, the supervisor may consult the supervisor's superiors or other County officers. The supervisor shall present an informal, oral decision with supporting reasons to the grievant within ten (10) days after the meeting.
Informal Grievance Procedure. Within ten (10) working days following the questionable act or condition which has prompted the need for a grievance, the Teacher, either personally or accompanied by an Association representative, shall meet with the Principal or their designee in an effort to resolve the issue. The Teacher must notify the Principal that a grievance is being initiated and that the meeting is considered as the informal level of the grievance procedure.

Every effort should be made to find an acceptable solution by informal means at the lowest possible level of supervision. If the EMPLOYEE is not in agreement with the decision reached by discussion, he/she shall have the right to file a formal grievance in writing within ten days after receiving the informal decision of the immediate superior. An informal grievance shall not be taken above the City Manager.

If, after this discussion, he/she does not believe the problem has been satisfactorily resolved, he/she shall have the right to promptly discuss it with the supervisor’s immediate superior, if any, in the administrative service. Every effort should be made without delay to find an acceptable solution by informal means at the lowest possible level of supervision. If the employee, or the Union, is not in agreement with the decision reached by discussion, he/she shall then have the right to file a formal grievance in writing within ten (10) calendar days after receiving the informal decision of his/her supervisor or the supervisor’s immediate superior on matters within the statutory scope of representations.

Informal Grievance Procedure. Subject to 8.01 (d), a Member, with the concurrence of the Bargaining Unit, shall bring an informal grievance to the attention of the site supervisor within five (5) days of the Member’s awareness or within five (5) days of when the Member ought reasonably to have become aware of the circumstances giving rise to the informal grievance. The Member must indicate that the informal grievance is in accordance with Article 8 to proceed. The site supervisor shall answer verbally or in writing within seven (7) days after receipt of the informal grievance.
