Instructor Appointments Committee. (a) Consideration of all applications for teaching functions shall be undertaken by an Instructor Appointments Committee. The Committee shall consist of the Chair or the Chair's nominee as Chair of the Committee and of two regular/tenured faculty members of the Department chosen by the Chair. If the Chair considers that, on the basis of the above formula, a regular/tenured faculty member with an adequate background in the academic specialty concerned cannot be obtained, a suitable substitution or addition from amongst the regular/tenured faculty in another department within the Faculty may be made. In choosing such persons the Chair or Chair’s nominee shall take into account University equity policies concerning designated groups.
