Insurance for Surviving Spouse. The Village shall allow a surviving spouse and eligible dependents of a deceased employee, either active or retired at the time of death, to maintain group hospitalization and major medical benefits, provided these individuals pay the monthly premium charge for this coverage to the Village. Such premiums shall be made available at group rates. In the event that the deceased employee is killed or dies in the line of duty the surviving spouse and eligible dependents of such employee shall be provided with health and dental benefits equal to those prior to the employee's death and the cost of such benefits shall be paid entirely by the Village.

  • Survivor Benefits 1. A surviving dependent of a retiree who was eligible to receive a Retiree Medical Grant, as stated above in A through C, and who qualifies for a monthly allowance shall be eligible for fifty (50) percent of the Grant authorized for the retiree.
