Interviews with College Managers and University Partners. The research team will undertake two interviews with college managers in each college, the first with the director of higher education (or equivalent) and the second with the head of the institution. In most cases, these will be face-to-face interviews lasting up to one hour. Both interviews will address a similar set of issues, although they are likely to be viewed and interpreted from different perspectives. These will include: The rationale for their involvement in higher education The reasons for patterns of growth or decline The barriers and opportunities surrounding further growth The sources of present and potential future demand The relationships between further and higher education in colleges The experience of validation, funding and regional partnerships The role of employers in these undertakings The comparable costs of higher education in college and university settings The capacity for expansion and its levers and limits In addition, the research team will conduct a further 16 interviews with senior managers at the higher education institutions in partnership with eight of case study colleges. These will be undertaken face-to-face or by telephone. The issues addressed will include: The reasons for their partnership with colleges The history and character of these relationships The patterns of growth or decline The factors informing present and future collaboration The potential for future development and growth The experience of funding, validation and regional partnerships The role of employers in these undertakings The comparable costs of higher education in university and college settings

An individual who is a resident of a Contracting State immediately before making a visit to the other Contracting State, and who, at the invitation of any university, college, school or other similar educational institution which is recognized by the competent authority in that other Contracting State, visits that other Contracting State for a period not exceeding two years solely for the purpose of teaching or research or both at such educational institution shall be exempt from tax in that other Contracting State on any remuneration for such teaching or research.

  • LABOUR MANAGEMENT RELATIONS 30.01 A Labour/Management Relations Committee shall be appointed, consisting of a maximum of two (2) Shop Stewards from the Union, and a maximum of two (2) representatives from the Co-operative. The full-time Union Representative may also attend these meetings from time to time. The Committee shall meet at the request of either party, for the purpose of discussing matters of mutual concern. Time spent by bargaining unit employees in carrying out the functions of this Committee shall be considered as time worked and shall be paid for by the Co-operative. The Committee shall not have jurisdiction to interpret and/or amend the Collective Agreement.
